Pros

Job security, decent office space and benefits.

Cons

Mediocre people. Most of the staff is employed in South East Asia and they have brang their "beautiful" work culture over to the whole bank. Most of the people here are just waiting for their paycheck to come and ignore any accountability that they might have. Quality of work is beyond poor and you will not be able to do anything to change that. You will see low turnover rate here because probably they won´t be able to be hired anywhere else. Poor leadership and micromanagement. Again, from India. Everything is urgent. Managers will only speak to you if they need something to be done ASAP. Their soft skills are something else, so expect to be called "my friend" or "my brother" here. I have seen many people working for 5+ years in the same position doing exactly the same thing every single day. If you are a talented person, management will make sure you will not take over their own roles. They will not hear any of your feedback because they just want their subordinates to praise them. Townhalls are full of "positivity" even if things are going badly. Toxicity. Speaking behind your back. No feedback on your internal applications. If they think you are making them look bad, they will make sure it has consequences on you. Expect people to be fake around you or to end up having a bad relationship with them if you are assertive. Processes and tools. Endless processes which are extremely poorly documented. Tools simply do not work as they should but no one cares. If you want a place to grow and have a nice time while working, DO NOT come here. No one cares about anything in SCB.

Pros

Work from home still applies to some.

Cons

Press releases talk about higher than forecast profits but within the company retrenchment is still on-going, no increments has been given across the board, positions are not filled but existing staff is asked to take up the additional workload. Overtime and weekend work is the norm. Toxic work culture, it's all about pointing fingers and finding a scapegoat and not about fixing the issue. Problem Management team is biased and unprofessional. Too many meetings to discuss matters, too many forums created for the same purposes, it's a waste of time and resource. 20 people in a meeting and only 2 executes. No opportunities for growth.
