Disheartening Professional Experience

Pros

Unfortunately, my time at Sia Partners didn't provide a substantial list of pros.

Cons

Racism and Unfair Treatment: It's deeply disheartening to report that instances of racism and unequal treatment were evident during my time at Sia Partners. Such behavior has no place in any professional environment and creates a toxic atmosphere that inhibits collaboration and growth. Lack of Room for Growth: The absence of clear pathways for career advancement left many of us feeling stifled and unappreciated. A workplace that doesn't prioritize employee growth hampers overall morale and motivation. Absence of Diversity and Expertise: The lack of diversity in perspectives and qualifications negatively impacted project quality and team collaboration. It's concerning when a company doesn't value the benefits that come from a diverse and educated workforce. Stagnation and Lack of Expertise: I encountered colleagues who lacked the necessary qualifications and expertise for the tasks at hand. This situation hindered project quality and was frustrating for those who were genuinely invested in their work. Unjust Compensation Disparities: I found it deeply unsettling that a colleague, who was a white male, was being compensated more despite working on less advanced senior clients than myself. This discrepancy in pay, based on factors beyond qualifications, highlights systemic issues within the company.

Pros

Many have the opportunity to work this fortune 500 clients, and can be a great place to start you career if you don't have experience. In order to have a good experience you have to get in with the right management, it's a non negotiable.

Cons

The client experience comes at the price of having to deal with internal management. Attrition is high, due to a variety of factors... long bench times, silent layoffs (market dependent), poor market culture, toxic management, unfair pay practices, etc. There are many colleagues who have said they have faced pay discrimination based on race, paternal status, etc. And others who have experienced sexual harassment that is often times swept under the rug by HR and market management.
