Pros

You get great perks. Brand partners are very generous with gratis. Training of products and brands are very detailed. The cast members are very knowledgable and excited to learn more about the brands carried in store and their purpose.

Cons

It is difficult to communicate with management because of attitudes and egos. It was difficult for me to become adjusted with the culture. They are always on the run and seem to be occupied with other things while meeting with you. To have their full attention you'd need to be the CEO or SR Management.

Pros

Free products; growing retail business with a strong outlook in a weak economy. Sephora has a strong concept and outshines its competitors. In this difficult economy Sephora is showing good growth and overall performance. This bodes well for continued job growth with little risk for layoffs.

Cons

Long hours, weekends, holidays are non-existant. Sephora's work schedule is driven by volume when the volume goes up the work hours will go up. Sephora gives 8 paid holidays, but you usually have to work the weekend before or after that holiday to get the day off.

Pros

All associates are given tons of free products aka "gratis"...all the time! Full time or Part time. Opportunity to work fewer holiday hours if necessary due to winter temporary hires.World class training. All employees are sent to week long (or condensed 3-day long) basic training. Also, there is continuous training on in-store brands during the week with brand representatives usually include free food. Above average emphasis on work-life balance. Opportunity to make more money than at other "mall jobs".

Cons

(Location-specific)...management appears to never promote from within. All management positions filled by new-hires making it seem impossible for career advancement. At times, catty/gossiping work environment.
