Busy

Pros

Lots of gratis, no commission so no pressure to sell one brand even though you know another has a better fit for the customer.

Cons

Breaks are assigned, time starts as soon as you hit backstage. So if you need to go get a bite to eat or drink, you have to remove your headset, grab your wallet out of your locker, then find a manager to check you out and look in your purse before you can leave, then be back on the floor with your headset and all within 10 min

It’s retail

Pros

lots of perks and decent benefits, can be very fun, pays better than a lot of other retail jobs. free product especially if you’re full time.

Cons

not a lot of training anymore. SEPHORA seems to be moving away from artistry and spends a lot of time tracking metrics, giving us a goal for almost every single one. payroll has been cut almost in half since 2023 and seems to be tightening even more every year. we had the same amount of hours in our busy spring promotion as we did in January. services staff is losing a lot of training, and they’re taking away a lot of our favorite brushes :( A lot of the tech they want us to use is unreliable or breaks often. Holiday season is a nightmare
