Pros

Sephora is very generous with their gratis. You will also receive a lot of product knowledge from the various brand reps that come in.

Cons

The downside is that you do not need any previous artistry skills to work there. I am a professional makeup artist and was treated as if I knew nothing. The training is also pretty awful. It's filled with mass amounts of videos that you have to watch and then speak about it. Very elementary. Also the "costume" is hot and uncomfortable.

Pros

Training, Brand Reps make frequent visits to stores to train, Sephora videos are available to get tips and tricks and insight to new products Gratis, Brands offer free product for employees to try. You can't sell a product unless you've sold it. You get about a bag of free product once a month. Opportunities, Most of the time if you show interest in a higher role there is a path laid out for you in order to get to it. Management is all about growing their people.

Cons

Poor Management, I have experience great and horrible management. I guess it all depends. Working with strong personalities can be tiring. Time off, in my experience is nearly impossible. Calling in sick will automatically get you a rude comment or follow up with "we really need you" or "take some medicine and call us back". Extremely unprofessional. Pay, which depends on location, size of store, and what your bring to the table.Overall salary is low. raises are not great either. No commission, which kind of sucks.

Pros

Great education and product training from many brands. Fun place to work with a great company who focuses on education for every employee no matter what world you work in.

Cons

Retail schedule. It is expected when you work in retail to have many nights and weekends but there was little to no flexibility for weekend or family unless you hold a management position.
