Pros

Less work and fat pay package. Food at work. Located in city and near to railway station. Business travel and perks.

Cons

No parking space. HR under management influence. Single person deciding pay, travel plan, promotions, increments for Pune technology center. Local vs out station is criteria involved in appraisal. No value for weekend and out of business hours work in appraisal. Sometimes appraisal would not happen if your boss is fired. Big data guys not allowed to use python and work in analytics projects.

Pros

Relocation packages. But at the end their actions are heading opposite way from their promises.

Cons

Inexperienced managers playing corporate life. They act like they were rescuing you giving you the opportunity of your life. Instead people, technology & profit; it should be profit, profit & profit. Expats managers in USA criticizing our country and laws, forcing you to work under third world employment conditions. HR is symbolic department due to they allow this issues turning sight to the other side.

Do not Trust Schlumberger

Pros

Most of the pro comments are true. I worked at Schlumberger for 18 years at three different locations. My efforts were rewarded with promotions and salary increase. I was personally recognized by three different presidents for "outstanding leadership" in 1980, 1988 and 1990. Most of the managers I worked under were good leaders, but of course a few had no business managing.

Cons

Schlumberger has joined the ranks of companies supporting worker compensation laws that have made lifetime medical benefits retroactively not worth the paper they are written on. See 04/28/2014 article in Texas Tribune concerning companies dropping lifetime coverage. After working at Schlumberger for 18 years and being rated as an outstanding employee, I was injured on the job. Schlumberger promised me lifetime medical care. After treating my injury for years without any issues, they have now arbitrarily dropped my medical coverage in the middle of treatment. They have refused to pay for any more treatment or or even pain medication. I have lost my home and am now totally disabled. I have no recourse due to Texas worker compensation laws. In a just world this would be criminal or at least a case of bad faith. Should you become injured at Schlumberger, do not trust them to honor written agreements for medical care.
