Pros

== Riot culture - We are all gamers - We are passionate - We default to trust - We shot for the stars - We give direct and transparent feedback. If you screw up, we will tell you. No taunt, just stop doing it. And most importantly, we are player focus. Everything we do is motivated by that. == Empowering environment Riot empowers the Rioters. You have ideas? We give you the means to achieve/deliver them. The Hong Kong studio is working like a startup. You can take on as much you want as long as you deliver. So feel free to have as many ideas as you want, as crazy as you want. You never know. It might become the next big thing :) == We care for Rioters Perks, events, training are small things by themselves but participate in reinforcing a core idea at Riot: we care for Rioters. We believe that by offering you a great working environment, you will achieve great things. == It feels like a tribe I've never worked in the gaming industry before, mostly because of its bad reputation of how badly they treat their employees, especially the tech teams. Therefore, I was really hesitant in joining Riot Games at the beginning. As the interview process went on, I discovered a company with people sharing the same core values as mine. It felt like I finally found what I was looking for: a tribe in which I would be able to go on new adventures and take on many new challenges :)

Cons

* Riot is not for everyone Being given so much freedom and ownership might be overwhelming and not for everyone. Don't expect someone guiding you day to day and telling you what to do. We will help you if you ask for it, but nobody is going to babysit you. You are the captain of your destiny at Riot :) * Culture fit is a must We can create such a great working environment because we believe in the same core values. So we will often default to not hire someone if we happen to have some doubt about this.

Pros

Amazing benefits, great perks which include full lunch and dinner for free, gaming stipend, gym stipend, etc, and flexible working hours. The campus is incredible and the you're surrounded every day by incredibly smart and talented individuals. Lots of opportunity to find a place to add value and contribute what you think is important, and if you're just starting out, tons of opportunity to learn through classes or shadowing.

Cons

With great power comes great responsibility - because Riot is so open ended, it's easy for people who want clear expectations to find it difficult. You will be given a lot of autonomy, and often expected to make a number of decisions yourself. This openness may also make it uncomfortable when trying to determine priorities on your work - often there is no clear line of decision making, it is up to you to work through those conflicts and set expectations. The lack of clear decision making also gets in the way when trying to gain a commitment for a team to accomplish a goal. In many cases there is no interest in hearing the total cost/investment without already seeing value - so your team may have to develop small chunks and check in to make sure stakeholders still find value in the work.

Pros

Great creative, collaborative and positive atmosphere. They are the opposite of "corporate," in a very good way. I was amazed by the abundance of highly intelligent, fun, out of the box thinkers. There's definitely a high regard for their employees and the work/life balance. My contract assignment was about 8 months, but during that time I saw that they really take care of their people.

Cons

Like I said in the "Pros" section, I was there on an eight month assignment and honestly, I can't think of any cons. Oh, the parking situation, but that's it.
