      Cost-Cutting, Dead-End Growth and Disrespect

      Fully remote‑work culture with genuine flexibility Good benefits: generous pension contributions, private healthcare, and a wide range of insurance protections Good entry point for early‑career talent (especially in lower‑cost regions) - project management roles in Europe and the U.S. have been rare of late

      Cons

      Brutal, purely cost‑cutting layoffs aimed squarely at “expensive” markets (US, UK etc.) Zero career ladder: instead of promoting seasoned senior PMs, they used to parachute in outside “managers” who’ve never run a real project Sweat all you want—nobody notices. Even speaking/writing decent English is treated like a trivial extra, not a basic professional skill.

      Nice benefits Interesting job Friendly coworkers Good management if you get into the right team (awful to nonexistent if not)

      Cons

      High turnover rate due to folks quitting left and right Terrible work/life balance During my multi years tenure I witnessed more employees leave than anywhere else. It was harrowing when folks on my team and adjacent teams suddenly left with no warning. We were left to fend for ourselves and the projects we were managing with little to no intervention from management (until the higher-higher ups intervened). Deadlines were hard to meet due to other departments' own issues.

      Pros

      I really appreciate all my colleagues working in the Brno office. Our team has very systematic approach to data engineering and we are able to develop self-sustaining, effective solutions and always keep our knowledge up to date.

      Cons

      UK management and the former SDL part of the company work in were outdated way and are moving us backwards in time. Management also got rid of many key people in the Brno office, which resulted in huge worsening of the overall atmosphere. We have not gotten any pay rise in 3 years (mind you there has been cumulative almost 30% inflation in Czechia in those three years). Bonuses are not anymore equivalent to what the rest of the market offers. Communication from the top management is terrible. Most meetings seem like they live in a different world then us employees and don't make any effort to understand our needs.
