Paychex has lost its awareness of what is happening at a field level and is more concerned about appearances. There are a lot of surveys on service and employee engagement that seem to be manipulated to portray the story corporate wants to project. Paychex seems to have grown into a large organization that is concerned about getting first to the 3 billion mark and now onto more. Corporate officers are receiving large bonuses and don't seem to be concerned as they once were about the reality of things that need to be improved at an employee and client level. There are still a lot of great things about this organization but it is moving away from the some of the cornerstones of customer service and treating employees like family it started with.
