      Fake positive reviews due to struggle with hiring

      Pros

      Ambushed with emails from our People Officer and forced to do surveys for "workplace experience".

      Cons

      Purchasing a "Great Place to Work" certification does not fool anyone. All the other fake "best workplace" claims are bogus. We get multiple emails from management to fill it out. We are afraid, to tell the truth since everything is tracked. OwnBackup is great at spending money on shiny things and not investing in people.

Let me reiterate this point: our goal is to elevate the employee experience. Allow me to provide recent examples to illustrate this commitment: Our recent survey results illuminated a strong interest among employees in exploring a condensed workweek. In direct response, we introduced a global summer hours program, enabling employees to disconnect early on the last day of the workweek, promoting a healthier work-life balance. Furthermore, our surveys indicated a desire among employees to engage more in community volunteer work. This led to the initiation of volunteer opportunities during our Mid Year Kick-Off event, marking the launch of our corporate volunteering initiative. Responding to requests for improved benefits and increased connection opportunities, we implemented enhancements driven by their transparent feedback. Our motivation for conducting these surveys is rooted in our determination to effect meaningful improvements. We employ tools such as the Great Place to Work (GPTW) survey due to its third-party nature, which ensures anonymous employee responses and a holistic understanding of workplace sentiment. It's important to clarify that neither we nor any company utilizing GPTW can influence awards or recognition through financial means. The entire process operates independently from OwnBackup, with confidentiality being paramount. Each award application is governed by stringent regulations dictating survey communication, privacy, and confidentiality. A core value we uphold is 'Culture is as important as results.' At OwnBackup, a culture cannot be simply purchased, aligning with our stance against a 'Let's just buy it' approach. The process of surveying our global workforce, comprehending their feedback, and formulating actionable plans is neither simple nor quick. We are deeply committed to our employees and will persist in seeking their candid input to continually enhance our company and cultivate a thriving workplace culture.       Excellent product, shocking management

      Pros

      Excellent product and very thorough hiring process leaving you working with some very talented staff.

      Cons

      It’s an absolute clown show from the top. Leads with values like transparency, better together and integrity yet decided to wipe out half the uk workforce during redundancies right after spending an absurd amount on a trip to vegas for the entire company. Spends money they don’t have and instead of admitting fault, chooses to let the staff who built the company from the ground up suffer. The redundancies were completely random, people who had exceeded their target had been chosen and replaced by newer employees with little experience.

      Toxic Work Culture - Save Yourself the Hassle

      - The office location is convenient. - Some colleagues are genuinely nice and supportive.

      Cons

      - Toxic Work Culture: The work environment is incredibly toxic. Managers form cliques and play favourites, creating a hostile and untrustworthy atmosphere. - Lack of Trust: There's a pervasive lack of trust across all levels. Employees are frequently thrown under the bus to cover for management's mistakes. - Spreadsheet-Focused Management: Managers are more focused on spreadsheets and numbers than on the well-being and development of their team. This leads to unrealistic expectations and unnecessary stress. - Inappropriate Relationships: There are instances of employees having inappropriate relationships with managers, leading to favouritism and further eroding trust and morale. - Revolving Door: The company has a high turnover rate. The best employees leave, and the pattern continues as the toxic environment drives talent away. - Large, Isolated Office: The office is too large, causing teams to work in silos. There is little to no cross-team collaboration, which stifles innovation and productivity. - Poor SDR Management: SDRs (Sales Development Representatives) are badly managed and not aligned strategically with the rest of the sales team. This misalignment leads to inefficiencies and missed opportunities.
