      My experience has been good with Nokia, although I preferred when the company was Lucent Technologies

      Pros

      Technical work is challenging; people are great to work with; get to work with teammates in Europe on a daily basis.

      Cons

      Over the past 7 or 8 years there have been a lot of internal reorganizations with some people being placed in groups where they don’t belong. They need to hire some young talent.

      Usual corpo stuff, nothing really stands out.

      Cons

      Totally chaotic management, on both C** level and lower. Politics. Awful lots of politics. Low pay. Old boy network is pushing out enthusiastic skilled people leaving old guys who know and protect each other since 20 years. Old technologies. Practically impossible to get fired, hence people who do nothing. Sometimes teams of such people. Travel and education are blocked most of the time due to cost cutting. No working code of conduct. Toxic people are not addressed by management.

      Pros

      Good benefits and pay. Great work life balance although that was going in the wrong direction since the opportunity to work at home was being eliminated.

      Cons

      Constant downsizing lead to a very negative work environment.
