Pros

Excellent benefits, interesting workload, friendly staff, given a lot of autonomy, sick pay for 6 months if needed, secure employment for the foreseeable future.

Cons

I've seen my fair share of corruption when it comes to tagging people for promotion in advance of interview, this really gets people's backs up.

Pros

i enjoyed working with some amazing people, enjoyed my job immensely, and wore a uniform I was proud to be seen in.

Cons

If you're sick a long time, like I was, watch out, the NHS will get rid of you if you cannot let them know when you will make a full recovery - I hadn't even had the surgery necessary to proceed towards a full recovery and was expected to know when I would be going back to work. Had been working for the NHS for almost 40 years.
