Pros

Great training. They give you a base for a while.

Cons

They try to make it seem that they offer more resources for new reps and that their new rep retention is 50% compared to 10% in the rest of the industry. However they set up their pay structure to keep you there for at least a year so the numbers are not comparable. They offer decent lead programs but you won't get access to them. Also, be prepared to give up half of whatever you bring in on your own because if you need to bring an experienced rep on an appointment then you have to give them half your commission. Your manager won't be able to handle an in depth appointment so you have to bring another rep with you.

Pros

Alternative Work Arrangement is provided. Work hour is flexible as long as you meet 40+ hours per week. Pay and benefit is good.

Cons

Recently, MetLIfe has been offshoring the IT work to out of the states. As a result, you don't have enough full time co-workers who can fully function for assignments. The offshore has limited knowledge in the project and difficult to communicate with for both my team and the customers. Therefore, you end up helping the offshore, if the offshore doesn't function well. You spend a lot of administrative and unnecessary work versus the actual IT work.

Pros

Some great aspects of working at MetLife are the vacation time, flexible schedule, and exposure. There is never a lack of work to do. Everyone is professional and treats you with respect.

Cons

Very bureaucratic making it very hard accomplish your tasks. Company does not promote within, usually looks for talent outside first.
