Pros

MetLife is a 150 year old company with a rich history. Very transparent culture all the way from the top. Employee inputs are actively sought and talent development is number 1 focus. By far the the best place I’ve ever worked and I’ve worked at six other companies previously.

Cons

Not much I can think of.

Pros

The only people genuinely happy here are AVP and above. They all get paid extremely well, with added corporate perks; and do no actual work to boot. The rest of us get free coffee in the break room, as we slave away and our morale diminishes.

Cons

DEI token promotions and woke agenda have grossly overtaken any actual business sense or long term strategy. No COVID-19 protocols in place, as the tripledemic runs rampant in the office.

Horrible leadership and politics

Pros

Pay, bonuses and benefits are excellent. Work environment is upscale. There are some great people in the trenches!

Cons

Executive leadership changes in technology a few years ago completely ruined what was great culture. The environment is toxic, problems are swept under cover for the illusion of everything being great. Politics are running through everything and the focus on what is supposed to be “inclusion” is just a facade for inequity and discrimination, Some people are demanded to work around the clock while others skate through and do nothing - no leadership accountability. The IT department leadership is inept at doing the right thing for the business and is neither truthful nor transparent to their colleagues. The saddest part is that good people are exploited till the are forced out, which the incompetent get promoted and stay. The story to shareholders does not reflect what really goes on in the IT areas.
