Pros

Great colleagues to work with although many of the best and brightest have had enough and starting to leave

Cons

Management boast of 19 quarters of continue growth but forget to mention it was accomplished with no growth in employees salaries. Much of corporate american struggle with meaningful raise these days but Marsh is the only one I know of that does not even give raises to people they promote.

Pros

Midtown location of the NYC headquarter office. Name recognition of this large international company in the brokerage industry.

Cons

No raises. Low (if any) bonuses. No room for career advancement. Terrible management and abysmal leadership especially in FINPRO. Employee morale and motivation are extremely low. Diversity is dismal. Marsh has many corporate initiatives and programs in place but it is all just "form over substance" and a means to check the box from a compliance standpoint. Upper Management is an exclusively white old boys (and girls) club, consisting for the most part of people who are far from brilliant but who have mastered the game of politics. No one in management has a shred of humanity, empathy or compassion. Nor is anyone interested in cultivating the large numbers of under-utilized and under-appreciated talent in the company.

Pay is Inadequate

Pros

Good healthcare, 401k, vacation/sick day benefits.

Cons

Unless you’re in an executive level position, the pay is atrocious for the amount of responsibilities and work you will be handling. You’d be better of managing a dry cleaner, as there would be less stress for the income. Does not matter your position, low pay company-wide seems to be an issue. From operations to client offices.
