Pros

Discount on products Enjoyable experience with customers from time to time. Very inclusive working environment.

Cons

Absolutely not worth the pay - Paid the same as an average sales assistant job in the area (£9.50/hour) but so much extra work and stress due to the company's pushy sales approach. You will be expected to come in outside of usual working hours for 'sales training'. Overpowering smell in the shop and you will leave with dyed fingers from demonstrating the various products. Terrible management - Chastising disguised as fake concern. Manager's stress due to stock issues taken out on employees. Constant stock issues - Difficult to provide customers with a proper service.

Good people, bad leadership

Pros

People are very nice and the work challenges can be interesting. The environment is very relaxed and friendly with flexible working conditions.

Cons

Leadership was very hit and miss. Although the business always tried to promote from within, they didn’t seem to support people in their new roles very well, so it all felt very amateurish. Projects were picked up and shelved constantly, which caused a reduction in motivation.

Pros

Great pay and employee benefits like 50% discount, special treats at Christmas, free spa treatment as part of your training, lovely shop floor team members

Cons

Nottingham store has a very cliquey management, no room for progression as they have had the same "trainee" managers for years and the boss Rebecca chooses who she likes to be supervisors. For example e despite voting on who the supervising team think is best overall. As a family unit are within management this also doesn't help. Compared to other stores like Derby or Trafford where they push you to do many things and help you reach goals and expand within the company, here, if your face doesn't fit it isn't for you. Mental health of a lot of staff not great, usually a very friendly atmosphere but be prepared you absolutely have to be able to be confident and speak to people to enjoy and be good at the sales side of the job.
