Pros

Decent Pay, Good place to learn from uniquely talented co-workers, full commitment to diversity

Cons

Forced performance distributions, Rating determined by managers you rarely see, Salary compression, job category salary ranges are market based but actual salary distributions are ~ 89% of mean, Promotion opportunities go to outsiders, 4 is a career level, decreasing benefits ( no pension for newbies, lots of pressure to make up any sick time, 1 choice for health care package, etc), management and workers growing more disconnected...2 very different worlds, local managers neutered by HR and policies. Full Spectrum Leadership is preached....ever constricting management is practiced.

Pros

I love the work I do at Lockheed. Very satisfying. The pay is in line with most other places, and most of my co-workers are fun to be around.

Cons

Lockheed Martin is huge. You really have to stand out if you are looking to get promoted. Also, because it is so big, things move pretty slowly.

Pros

Pleasant co workers Casual workplace The ability to tele commute from home or another LM location Access to software is good

Cons

Lack of communication to developers (both salaried and contractors) -employees would be down-sized on very short notice--people would always be on edge -key people (both developers and management) would be moved elsewhere and not replaced Management would oversell--targeted milestones would be pushed to later releases, this became quite common Compensation on the salaried developer side was a lower than the average for the DC area
