Pros

Pay is competitive with similar positions elsewhere in the area, decent raises first few years. Health care benefits are fantastic. Hours are flexible but it depends on the department. Upper management tries to keep work/life balance in mind. Work environment is relaxed for the most part, easy to get along with everyone. The work can be challenging as the company is still trying to get on its feet in the US, which can be a pro or a con depending on the viewpoint. From my viewpoint I can appreciate being a part of something that is just beginning from the ground up. There are going to be mistakes made but that is to be expected from a company that has not done business in the country before. Whether HQ learns from those mistakes is the real kicker.

Cons

Agree with the 2017 review about inexperienced managers, but the bad ones have basically been weeded out recently so there is a pretty good core left. There was a lot of talk early on about opportunities for quick advancement but that doesn't really seem to be the case nowadays. To be frank, the company has made a lot of bad decisions at the start and that is why my review is titled mixed feelings. The job is good but there is a lot of uncertainty going around about the future prospects of the company in the US. HQ made terrible decisions early on regarding store placements and is still paying the price for them. Putting stores out in the middle of nowhere far from the RDCs, multiple stores in the same city that are basically cannibalizing each other (6 in Richmond VA? really?), not taking advantage of DC/Baltimore/Philadelphia/high populated areas closer to the RDCs yet, etc. Store size is much too large and the item assortment could be greatly improved. There has been a lot of talk of changes that are going to be made but we will just have to wait and see for now.

Pros

The pay is very nice but for the work done and the amount of physical injury that occurs it is barely worth it.

Cons

New company in the US that is having major structural problems. Bad work environment. Management is trained to say one thing in order to smooth over situations and then do the exact opposite. Logistics is a nightmare. No one is ever let go so people who do their job are required to work twice as hard to cover for people unable or unwilling to do their own job. Many other things need to be improved upon with this company
