Pros

Free giveaways on Fridays, good benefits, and a nice, modern office (though that doesn't really get you too far when the rest of the company is a joke)

Cons

Management is the absolute worst!!! Where do I even begin? My line manager "never had the time" to train me on any of my tasks, due to a combination of two reasons: she was too busy kissing her own manager's butt, or she was constantly being assigned these ridiculous tasks with completely unreasonable deadlines which are apparently a "priority". My manager then proceeded to get angry with me and call me out in front of our entire team because I wasn't trained on one of my main tasks and ended up making a mistake. Last minute tasks come up nearly every day, but with no real reasoning other than the fact that someone messed up something along the lines and now others are stuck fixing it. Management seems terrified of what they call "International", which is basically the main European Lidl office. They refuse to deviate from International's processes, which is why they cannot adapt to the US market. Why do you think they still aren't a top player in the US grocery market? This company is a serious mess. Favoritism is fully present and employees are scared to stop kissing managers' butts for fear they will get fired out of the blue, which actually happens! Micromanagement was so harsh to the point where I constantly felt I was being watched. I was constantly questioned about what I was doing and why. There is no trust for employees, managers treat them like 5 year olds who have never worked a day in their life! Lastly, the environment is scarily similar to a high school - employees are genuinely mean without cause, and talk behind each other's backs. They spy on each other and tattle to their managers! My best advice: listen to these red flags and accept them, no matter how attractive the benefits are, or how cool the office is, or how glamorous the work sounds.

Pros

Based on my own experience there are no pros

Cons

Environment is tense, managers are ineffective and unprofessional, for this type of AP position to out of the norm of what typical AP positions entail, there needs to be some level of training, the fiancé dept lacks formal training yet judges you on your performance from the time that you sit down to perform your assigned tasks. The finance dept had all new staff when I started which was a huge red flag. I later learned that there retention rate is very poor. You sit at a table in an open and very distracting environment and are expected to perform at top notch levels again with little to no training

Pros

Well above minimum wage pay for associates, trainers are nice, mileage pay.

Cons

Training can be stressful. It's five days a week, 6 hours a day in a classroom for four weeks. Higher-ups expect a lot from you. You are expected to memorize over 100 PLU's. As well as information on hundreds of power point slides. Which you have no access to studying over, even though there's a final at the end of your training covering everything that will determine further employment. District managers seem very young and inexperienced. They play around too much and usually are no where to be found when needed in the training center. Supervisors try to motivate you by telling you if you kiss butt, and make 100's on tests they will put in a good word for a potential promotion to supervisor. Which I don't buy. Because of this, fellow associates become brown-nosers and turn training into a competition. Supervisors seem unprofessional and a little on the rough side. Telling associates that they will judge our appearance harshly, although they dress awful themselves. Bad makeup, crazy hair, lots of tattoos, etc. They also seem cliquey and presumptuous. Expectations seem more like a fantasy than reality. They are all about efficiency and a positive work environment, but it seems a little too perfect. We'll see.
