Pros

Without sounding too harsh, I can't pick any pros about working for this company. The atmosphere in the building is extremely uncomfortable. -I thought the money was good (not the graduate programme) but soon realised that it wasnt!

Cons

-Management literally look down their nose at you, especially if you are new -training was the worst I had ever seen. First hour in the building and I was expected to understand the database and excels platforms they use. -extreme internal issues within teams. I joined a team of 2 who wouldn't even speak to each other so clearly I was never going to do well as both of them expected the other to train me. -even if you are the new person they certainly didn't hold back with blaming you if anything went wrong.

Pros

none, actively looking for a new job so I can leave.

Cons

They take people who want to do a good job and just break them. No team spirit, no atmosphere in work, constantly getting in trouble for anything and everything. Just a terrible working environment.

Pros

* Great hourly pay starting from £7.50 for store assistants and going up to £10.50 based on performance and experience * Flexible with holidays - very easy to get days off if you notify well in advance * Time passes extremely fast - Working at Lidl you will not realise and your shift will already be over * Easy to get overtime - If you are on a 25 hour contract (which you will usually be when you start), you can easily increase this to 40 by coming in earlier and staying until later * Recently introduced 10% discount for staff - At those prices you don't really need it, but always good to know you're valued as a member of staff * A lot of opportunities to advance into senior management

Cons

* Shifts can vary a lot in terms of timings - you could be working starting at 6am one day or 4pm on another, it needs some time getting used to this flexibility if you're new in this field * If you don't have good memory, the work can be really challenging. You need to know where each item is located and also memorise dozens of non-scannable item codes (fruit & veg) * No additional benefits other than the 10% staff discount
