Lots of good infrastructure, generally good funding environment, nice people who are very passionate about their respective fields. If you're motivated you can achieve some great publications due to the reputation, expertise and resources available here.

Cons

Depending on where you work at LBL safety can be overbearing or not enough. In addition, the same applies depending on what PI you work for.
