Pros

Great people on your work teams, professional environment, certain opportunities for advancement. Quite a lot of Support for employees work life balance.

Cons

Long hours. They are not open and honest in their communication. Focus on meeting certain requirements that do not add value.

Pros

Good information sharing, excellent opportunity to build knowledge in a vertical segment and/or work across industries and with varying clients. Great place to build ability to work with senior management at clients and to learn new things

Cons

Favoritism, politics and a focus on fees a huge drawback. it's a partnership, so expect continual pressure on fees; income comes first, quality comes second. The kpmg values are given lipservice. Basically a professional sweatshop, but if you can make it through a few years at kpmg, then you can be successful anywhere. Lots of so-called leaders can talk a lot, but have no real substance behind their words

Pros

Large network of resources, excellent training (both technical and soft-skills), brand recognition within the industry, and opportunities for travel are all available at KPMG.

Cons

Same issues here as there are at many firms: extreme favoritism when it comes to raises, promotions, and recognition, issues with work-life balance, difficulty balancing views of management and staff when it comes to feedback. KPMG seems to be the most reactionary of the Big 4 when it comes to issues, changes in corporate culture, and technology, and that makes it very frustrating to envision staying here more than three to four years. Turf wars, in addition, are to be expected but I would expect senior management to understand the impact and take steps to reign the counterproductive pieces of those games in, but they don't.
