Pros

The company truly strives to offer the best products for consumers, employees at all levels are concerned with the health and well-being of consumers.

Cons

This is a family-oriented company, in Toronto at least. If you're a single woman expect pressure to settle down and raise a family. The company strategy is to pay middle of the road salaries in all depts.

Pros

Good place for college graduates to start. Lot of different operating companies. Brand name. Decent benefits. Fairly secure work environment (though nothing is truly secure in corporate world). Wide ranging product portfolio. Can move between functions if you perform well. Good way to see the workings of large companies for those that are younger.

Cons

Very political environment and lack of strong executive leadership. Not a true global company in the way that it operates. Moving from de-centralized structure to a more centralized structure has rewarded many people that frankly have never delivered and sometimes know very little about which they speak....and results in weak leadership.

Pros

Reasonably stable, blue-chip company. The company has a strong heritage and some great, iconic products. Employees are well compensated in relation to their peers at other companies (I think). Opportunities for jumping jobs is high. In some sectors of the organization it is easy to get assignments in foreign countries, which can be really interesting and fulfilling.

Cons

High bureaucracy. Sometime unrealistic sales expectations. Some of the recent ideas of the company's senior management team have not been well thought out in recent years and so expectations have not been achieved. The result has been some fairly dramatic job cuts. Some of these cuts could have been avoided with sharper attention paid to products in development (and a better assessment of their true value and likelihood for commercial success).
