Pros

Fair HR policies; pleasant folks at the business-end of the organization; NA IT management genuinely interested in promoting growth of an individual - lots of emphasis on training and skill development

Cons

UK-based IT leadership is inherently political, bureaucratic and lacks experience in rolling out enterprise solutions -leading to slow, inefficient, and inadequate IT systems - that, in turn, will adversely impact growth in a luxury auto segment that demands excellence in every customer interaction. Further, a majority of the employees are not equipped to deliver top-notch solutions/service with the appalling systems environment in which they are expected to work in. Recourse to correct the anomalies do not exist as this is a UK-dominated political organization structure, that is severely out of touch with basic requirements in an NA market - which, ironically, is where the projected growth in the next 5 years is. The UK bias is also evident in the disproportionate needs-to-spend ratio in the IT budget.

Pros

Exciting industry, iconic brands, the best and most luxurious SUV on the market. Great culture at Uk headquarter, difficult environment at the US headquarter. All decision making moved to the UK.

Cons

Company is a shadow of its old self. Under Ford ownership it was run from the US but had great processes, very high calibre people, currently ran from India and the UK, many of the top notch employees have left. Land Rover is keeping perennially ailing Jaguar brand on life support.

Pros

Good salary Stable job Good benefits - pension, family healthcare plans, health cash plan, salary sacrifice company car High technology related work, good prospects for personal and professional development Opportunity to lead teams, manage and mentor employees Favoritism is common

Cons

Extremely political - cant survive as a manger unless you join a cartel for protection, needs someone senior to be watching your back always and to pave a path for your career progress Seniors only want to hear good news - thats why too many quality issues Good engineers and technical people dont stay High stress enviornment Agile introduction has made things absolutely worse, morning stand ups are intolerable
