      Pros

      The overall product line is second to none - overall. Easy to get an appointment and to have the customer to listen to you. You have the ability to sell all products as a generalist or specific products as a specialists. Specialization can be in hardware (Servers, storage, etc.) and in software (middleware, such as data management and business intelligence, web servers, application development, systems management and security) and services (IT services that are hardware or software centric; or business servcies, such as consulting, systems integration, application management, systems outsourcing, business process transformation or business process outsourcing). There are other more detailed specializations.

      Cons

      Pay is not as good as it is with competing firms.

      Pros

      Great opportunity to learn and pursue skill development(incl. well established educational and e-learning oportunities); Global company(with many locations all over); Good awareness of virtual teams, cross-division and cross-culture collaboration. As a global company that sells all over and is not only focuses on a single market/region, great potential to do fine over time and not be dependent on the economy ups and downs in a single region. There are various innovative venues for employees to show their ideas and collaborate with others- incl. Blue Opportunity and BizTeck projects which enable you to take some of your weekly time and work on a cool project with a team other than your regular job' team.

      Cons

      Too big of a company to get noticed or to find who works on what and who to talk to.

      Pros

      IBM offers individuals growth in many different areas within the organization. An employee is granted the ability to really seize control of his or her career and encouraged to take steps that will help him or her reach goals.

      Cons

      Because of the company's large nature individual employee contributions are generally used to benifit the company more than the individual. There should be a better method of employee recognition over and above a "small" bonus.
