Thanks for your feedback. As we grow, we are particularly focused on organization. We likely won’t clean house though as we do conduct performance reviews every six months for everyone in the company – from execs down to entry-level employees – to gauge how they’re contributing to Glassdoor overall. We’ve found these to be tremendously successful to help us foster and retain our talent.

Pros

- Strives to live up to it's values of transparency, inclusion and diversity - there's talented employees

Cons

- terrible leadership mostly at the C and VP level, turnover after turnover in almost every org, causing disorganization, confusion and low morale - Some of the leadership does need to go, but with the volume it's at, (most do not stay for more than a year) and consistency of turnover, it puts a huge strain on the individual contributors and the folks doing the work. Leaderships sets the strategy and direction and IC's execute, and where there is no stability and constant changes it's just going around and around in circles, leads to extreme frustration working in that type of environment

Thanks for taking the time to write about your experience working here at Glassdoor. Authentic insights around both Pros and Cons help job seekers and employees understand what it’s truly like to work at a company, and are vital to helping us fulfill our mission. I agree wholeheartedly that we have a talented employee base and appreciate you acknowledging the work we’re doing to live up to our values. Operating transparently isn’t always easy, but it’s fundamental for us to do as we advocate for transparency in every workplace, not just our own. I also appreciate the feedback you provided on areas of opportunity for leadership. We are on a path of transformation and that ultimately drives change and therefore, some turnover across the organization. In recent months we have strengthened our leadership bench across departments, and we continue to make progress. We are also increasing our focus on strengthening leader communication so that all team members can continue to feel empowered to do their best work. Thanks again. - Christian Sutherland-Wong, CEO

Pros

It's a mission driven company -- feels good to be doing something good for the world (theoretically)

Cons

The pay is very mediocre... that was okay given that work / life balance was pretty good. But, 60 hour weeks has become the norm. It's gotten political. Execs are leaving left at an alarming rate...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Glassdoor is a mission driven company - helping job seekers find a job and company they love and I'm happy to hear that our mission has resonated with you. A foundational component of Glassdoor is also transparency. Earlier this year, we provided insight into our Compensation Philosophy - which one can find on our blog - which highlights that we target the 65th percentile as midpoint for salaries of non-technical roles and the 75th percentile as midpoint for technical roles. And no doubt, 2020 has been a challenging year with a global pandemic, moving to working remotely full time, and social justice taking a prominent role. Within Glassdoor, these changes were also layered upon a strategy shift and a focus on radical transparency. In addition to salary transparency, we have also focused on transparency into: diversity data and metrics, pulse (employee engagement) results, and promotion transparency to provide employees and candidates alike the insights and information they need to navigate their careers. Despite the changes that 2020 has brought us, we are excited about the progress we've made in these areas and the future impact we can have to help those at Glassdoor and everywhere love their job.
