Five guys has alot of flaws they cut labor extremely low force managers to send employees home and do sometimes only run with 2 ppl even tho the rule is you must have 3 ppl on shift at all times, they still expect you to hit all numbers even when you have no employees. Upper management talks bad about employees, and will push paperwork to get people they don't like fired. If you report it to HR they claim they will investigate it but nothing ever happens. They require manager to work certain shifts such as 7-5 3 days, 10-8 1 day and 1-11 1 day, but when you tell them about other managers not doing this they do nothing. They promise secret shop money but at the end of the year if they go "over budget" they will cut the payout. They expect you to work when it snows, hurricane, or any other type of inclement weather.if you want to go home but don't have coverage they will force you to stay, and say if you go he you'll get a Write up even tho the handbook says you can go home if you do not feel safe. Most of the time instead of closing they make ppl stay and risk their life to keep them open even tho they are only making 50$ an hour. If your in management they require you to work minimum 50 hours a week. You only receive 2 weeks of vacation once you are assistant manager or higher. They do not pay over time for salary managers. They do not pay fair i worked for a while with them and know they paid people off the street just coming in more than me. They freeze raises and won't allow us to give people raises if they arnt making enough to money. They have trainers, districts managers, HR, Area managers who don't know absolutely anything about policy and procedures. One person would tell you this another would tell you that and then when you refure back to the ops manual they say "that's not the correct version" to prevent themselves from looking incompetent. They forage paperwork ex I know of multiple employees who put in two weeks and worked their scheduled shifts, but then the managers would be told to put them on another week so you could put they did no call no shows and put them not eligible for rehire and not pay unemployment. They would promise raises but never do it. They would make us use expired products. They did at least 3 price increase a year. If you worked a 10 hour shift you still only received a 15 mins break or you had to clock out but keep in mind you still have to hit 50 hours at the end of the week or they would take it out of your pto or pay. You didn't have a personal life because if anything went wrong you had to give up your day off to come in with no extra pay. Five Guys is very corrupt! I could go on for days but this is just the main part .
