Pros

fun industry, lots of travel related news, opinions, thoughts, ideas. i love to travel and like the concept of working for a travel company.

Cons

very immature in process and thought leadership. primarily a "do"er and not a leader culture. people get promoted thru the ranks without the necessary qualifications or skills. not competence, but loyalty and tenure are rewarded the most. most of the directors have the skills of a team leader or lower level manager at best. very arrogant and ego driven culture. very resistant to change and acceptance of new ways of thinking is very very low. the company revolves around the technology organization--even HR is afraid of the product dev org and will bend over backwards to keep WWPD (world wide product dev) happy, even when they don't deliver.

Pros

Benefits WLB Colleagues Health insurance Office is nice

Cons

Extremely disappointing experience overall. Expedia presents itself as a fast-moving tech company, but internally it often feels more like a slow-moving corporate machine buried under layers of process, meetings, politics, and management theatre. Leadership frequently felt disconnected from the realities of the frontline business, with constant micromanagement, reactive decision-making, and endless internal conversations that rarely translated into meaningful action. Career progression and promotions felt incredibly limited. Many employees openly joked that the only way to progress was to leave the company. Internal roles often appeared to be formalities, with outcomes seemingly decided before positions were even advertised. High performers were regularly expected to carry disproportionate workloads while underperformance elsewhere was tolerated for years. There was a noticeable culture of complacency in certain areas, making it difficult for ambitious employees to grow or bring fresh ideas forward. The company talks heavily about innovation and culture, but much of the day-to-day experience felt dominated by corporate jargon, internal politics, favouritism, and optics over execution. There were also concerns around how bullying, employee wellbeing, and inappropriate workplace behaviour were handled, which at times felt inconsistent or inadequately addressed. To HR and senior leadership reading this: employees see far more than you think. Stop focusing on appearances and start addressing the deeper cultural and management issues that continue driving good people out the door. For anyone considering joining: if you are looking for a genuinely agile tech environment with strong leadership, clear progression, accountability, and merit-based growth, I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere

Pros

Decent pay and decent benefits.

Cons

This company puts so much expectations on stats that an actual human cannot go so fast and be absolutely accurate. Unrealistic goals, micro managing, supervisors teaming up on an employee. Very uncomfortable. They ruined my ability to type fast because of a fall they caused and now are taking away my job. Supervisors don’t even seem human, dry, robotic, no empathy or understanding.
