Pros

Good pay Some nice colleagues Nice venue

Cons

Dull job Incompetent management No innovation The Montreal office has not developed anything significant since its acquisition a couple of years ago (was another company back then). Incompetent management; innovative individuals are despised. Do not go there if you are talented.

Pros

Good work life balance Good people Nice HQ

Cons

The technology is antiquated and hard to change Not quick or agile enough - there's too much process and innovation gets bogged down in endless cycles of reviews. In general, the software development practices are outdated and need updating. This is in part because of ancient technology that is hard to work with and fragile.

Pros

Company has the right size - market position and financial strength allow for investment into cool technologies that should secure future competiteveness - yet the organization is small enough that the individual contribution is very visible- that is very satisfying A truly international place to work

Cons

- Worst HR department I have ever come accross - Expedia has too many mediocre managers and individual contributers due to very poor recruting, poor performance management and compensation processes and policies - Poor project management and governance approaches - many high priority programs and projects, too many cooks in the kitchen yet mostly unclear who's overall accountable
