Pros

I initially worked for a company that was bought by Ericsson, most of us from creative rather then corporate backgrounds. A few of the perks were - modern offices - flexible work hours - working from home - good, relaxed atmosphere, surrounded with fun people from different backgrounds and countries, very international - paid overtime

Cons

For a communications company the internal communications are beyond bad, finding any information in a jungle of acronyms that nobody knows what they stand for is rather untransparent and difficult. - being from a creative/media background there isn't many options for moving up in the company - shockingly low salaries/no salary increases/no bonuses (in the UK at least) - high staff turnover - a lot of offshoring and redundancies - HR is slow and unorganised, hard to find information - poor IT infrastructure, you're not being provided the necessary tools to do your job properly and getting anything fixed is a lengthy process - the employees aren't shown enough respect or that they are valued by the company

Pros

Decent pay and very good benefits.

Cons

Complete disconnect between management and the resources the are supposedly managing. Compensation seems completely disconnected from individual performance.

Pros

Pension plan, RRSP, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, On site daycare & cafetria

Cons

Losing market share, layoffs, eroding compensation (used to be 37.5 hrs/wk, now 40; used to pay overtime, no longer the case; can be scheduled any day of the week including weekends without any compensation). Consistently asked to do more with less, but eventually you're left with nothing. Demoralized staff. Little room for growth, managers in place who shouldn't be, their soft skills are long gone, decisions based on emotion and butt-covering rather than logic and the good of the company.
