Pros

You get to join somewhere that used to be respected for its technical knowledge.

Cons

- Blind leading the blind into a pit of bad decisions - Leaders at all levels take no responsibility for their actions. It's someone else's fault, a "macro economic environment", COVID, the "rest of the industry is suffering too" - Leaders at the highest level somehow got to keep their jobs through three layoffs, some even got promoted and continue to get more responsibility in spite of not being able to say in one sentence what Thoughtworks actually does for work - Profits mean nothing without "growth" - investors will always be first and if you think you'll get an ounce of budget you're just being flat out lied to - Lies, lies and more lies - Greed, greed and more greed - Cutting, closing offices, delaying payments, moving money around and playing all the games financially to look better than they are - Pay is the worst - a tiny pay rise in 3 years and then told to feel like we're special because we actually received something. The industry is paying 10-20% higher than TW.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us—we understand it’s been a challenging time. To ensure our long-term health and sustainability, we had to make some tough strategic decisions, including recent redundancies. With the reorganization, becoming a leaner organization, and our intent to go private again, we are optimistic about the future. We remain committed to creating a stable and supportive environment for our employees. If you have more to share or would like to discuss further, please reach out directly to Sanyam Sharma at sanyam.sharma@thoughtworks.com.

Pros

I've had a great experience building my career at Thoughtworks. One of the things that stands out most is the culture. It's collaborative, supportive, and filled with people who genuinely want to help each other succeed. Thoughtworks has also provided me with meaningful opportunities for career growth. I've been encouraged to take on new challenges, develop new skills, and explore different career paths. Leaders have been approachable and supportive, and I've always felt empowered to own my development rather than being confined to a single role. Like any organization, we’ve had our ups and downs. But the people and the commitment to continuous learning have remained consistent strengths. If you're looking for a place where you can grow professionally, work with smart and passionate people, and be part of a culture that values collaboration and innovation, Thoughtworks is a great place to build your career.

Cons

None that I can think of right now.
