Pros

- Working with some of the best people in the software industry - Every day there is something to learn - Great focus on social justice - 3 pillars serve as objectives - Excellent in-house grad training program - Proactive recruitment for women

Cons

- Have to be in with the "in-crowd", so find out who to drink with - Above is really important, as determines your allocation to projects - More thought, less work, too much talking in circles, lack of decisions in projects to progress - Zillions of emails, no formal hierarchy, however an unofficial political hierarchy exists - Blame/complaining culture is rife, arguing for the sake of arguing sometimes about pointless things - Not a values based organisation - Expect heaps of out-of-hours work to progress in career, after work at client is over for the day - High turnover of staff - Transparency exists only when it suits - Watch the backbiting, those daggers are sharp!

Pros

I've had a great experience building my career at Thoughtworks. One of the things that stands out most is the culture. It's collaborative, supportive, and filled with people who genuinely want to help each other succeed. Thoughtworks has also provided me with meaningful opportunities for career growth. I've been encouraged to take on new challenges, develop new skills, and explore different career paths. Leaders have been approachable and supportive, and I've always felt empowered to own my development rather than being confined to a single role. Like any organization, we’ve had our ups and downs. But the people and the commitment to continuous learning have remained consistent strengths. If you're looking for a place where you can grow professionally, work with smart and passionate people, and be part of a culture that values collaboration and innovation, Thoughtworks is a great place to build your career.

Cons

None that I can think of right now.
