Pros

I have been working as a full-time developer for nearly 4 years now. Any company will change during that long a time and ThoughtWorks India has changed as well. First of, its a great place for a fresher or less experienced (less than 4 years) folks hands-down. Lots to learn and lots to gain towards a greater career. We have changed organizationally in terms of global structure as well as the India organizational structure and this shift in leadership almost every year does bring with it the question of - who's vision are we driving towards? If its a collective vision, then, in my opinion, its not a long-term vision. In terms of development work, the projects that I see around are fairly good in terms of tech-stack as well as in terms of different domains. But most of them are majority maintenance-like and very few new projects are coming on board, which means not a lot of new technical and business challenges. This directly affects the growth of every technical and non-technical employee. Stagnation is not far away, ever.

Cons

From my point of view, lots of good people have left already or are planning to leave in the near future. I am not surprised by it - the lack of challenging work and work environment is a limiting factor and everyone wants to grow - not just financially but also in their role through being faced with new challenges. Leadership is almost silent, if not absent. There are interactions but only far and few and changing leadership styles/structures adds to this confusion even more. At the end of the day, the company is becoming similar to any other Indian IT consultancy firm (TCS, Infosys, Wipro...) and the differentiating factor is slowly becoming a blur because such differentiation is reflected in an organization's culture and not just in the hourly billing rate that they charge.

Pros

I've had a great experience building my career at Thoughtworks. One of the things that stands out most is the culture. It's collaborative, supportive, and filled with people who genuinely want to help each other succeed. Thoughtworks has also provided me with meaningful opportunities for career growth. I've been encouraged to take on new challenges, develop new skills, and explore different career paths. Leaders have been approachable and supportive, and I've always felt empowered to own my development rather than being confined to a single role. Like any organization, we’ve had our ups and downs. But the people and the commitment to continuous learning have remained consistent strengths. If you're looking for a place where you can grow professionally, work with smart and passionate people, and be part of a culture that values collaboration and innovation, Thoughtworks is a great place to build your career.

Cons

None that I can think of right now.
