Pros
Fantastic cultures structures in place to make employees comfortable, most importantly to ensure work-life balance. The bank takes personal development seriously and has a fairly good framework in place to support employees in this regard. Finally, work place health a safety is taken very seriously.
Cons
Too much power given to line management/business and HR has little or no influence on people welfare. All HR people policies and benefits are given at the discretion of the line management/business and consequently, the experience with different employees is not homogeneous across the bank. Until the bank addresses this structure, or better still, train managers on decision making when it comes to benefits, this will continue to be a pain and the will continue to lose goodwill. The bank itself has all the fantastic structures in place to be the best place in the world to work, but the people is the problem.
