Pros

Pension plan 401k Match Decent Commissions Strong Products Financially Sound Company Great Benefits Flexibility and Autonomy in work hours and business practices Encourages an entrepreneurial spirit in its employees Great bonus package Ability to move into management

Cons

The problem I have with insurance companies is that they hire 100 people and know that only 1 or 2 will remain with the company longer than 4 years. The turnover is incredible, which is what they want. They want new employees to sign up friends and family and then leave, so they don't have to pay trailing commissions and residuals. Failure is almost expected within the industry, and those that succeed are few and far between, and only then do they truly gain respect and only then will the company give them some resources to enhance their career. I understand the rationale behind this business model, but is at times frustrating.
