Pros

- Some really great people still there who are smart, collaborative, hard working and caring - Product teams do a great job launching new features - Decent opportunities for internal career advancement - Remote work flexibility

Cons

I worked at HubSpot pre-Covid. The energy and support I felt from other HubSpotters way back when was amazing. It got the company through the hard early days of lockdown - then the surge in business that came right after. We supported each other through the good and the bad. HEART wasn't just a culture slogan but how most HubSpotters approached each other and their customers. But then something changed. "High performance culture" came in. Another way of saying we'll get rid of anyone for any reason we want. No more trying to lift up your fellow HubSpotter and supporting each other through challenges and tough times. Micromanagement took over and the vibe turned to Survivor. So many long time employees and leaders have left the company recently. It's become like any other big software company.

Sorry to read this--that's the opposite of what we are trying to do, and you'll see our team is sharing more this week on what employees can expect in terms of investments and growth in the year ahead, so I hope that helps take some of the "sting" or perceived fear out of the messaging and approach on performance, but please keep the feedback coming if it doesn't. -Katie

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
