Work harder than you would at comparable restaurants for about the same pay. - Crew Member Five Guys Employee Review

Pros

Free meal every shift. Secret shoppers visit stores twice a week. If they leave a good report, each crew member on the shift gets a pretty decent bonus to their paycheck that week.

Cons

Expected to be legitimately excited to cook burgers and fries all day. I understand how to put on a friendly face for a customer, but I can't stand when management wants me to feel lucky that I get to serve people overpriced cheeseburgers.

Pros

They will teach you everything you need to be successful. They have much higher standards than most places, one of the few places I'd have no problem eating at any location. They'll make sure you have everything you need to meet those standards, especially once you get to a management level. They have corporate trainers and the GM at my location was also great. I'm a GM at a different place now and my experience here left me well prepared me for that position.

Cons

Pay. That's the only reason I left, I would have stayed with the company if I could have gotten a raise and I would definitely return if they offered something comparable to what I'm making elsewhere.
