Pros

A company that really cares about their people. Allows for flexible work environments as long as you communicate and complete your work in a timely manner. Many benefits including reimbursement for certain health and fitness expenses, long summer holiday weekends, and referral bonuses. Most of the people I work with are caring, dynamic, professional, and entertaining individuals.

Cons

Outside of busy season, it isn't uncommon to have certain periods of heavier work flows, i.e. 50ish hour work weeks. Utilization (% of work charged to billable hours), can be a bit high, though the % varies depending on your work level. More work seems to be delegated to India or handled by BOTs which may be good for the company overall, but maybe not the best for those wanted to gather further experience in the US.

General Review of EY GDS

Pros

- EY GDS is a great organisation for starters - Balance of work life if you are a keralite EYGDS is a good place to settle if you dont want very less of client travels. - Work From Home options/Flexi timings depending on your team - Cab facility - Opportunity to work with big teams Internationally - Learning & Development

Cons

- EY GDS is not a direct client facing organisation - Only few teams has necessary core consulting/end to end audit exposure. Majority are doing offshore activity. - Chances of higher Promotions not that easy, only if you are the blue eyed boy/girl of the management. Highly nepotistic. And it go by the word "visibility". - Lot of Administerial activities for doing simple jobs. - Not exactly all teams enjoy good pay. - Some teams in EYGDS do highly redundant and monotonous jobs.

Pros

The people that you work with will have your back and will work with you on your problems. If you vocalize that you are having problems on a project, management will take the time to go through your responsibilities with you and work to create a plan that will enable you to accomplish your goals and the requirements of the job. The company provides a plethora of benefits and will compensate you well for the work you put in; however, you have to actively pursue these benefits outside of your paycheck.

Cons

The work can get stressful and heavy quickly, especially coming out of college. If you do not speak up and keep open and honest communications with management, you will be left behind and feel like you do not matter to the company, which is not true. You will work long nights and weekends, and the workload will seem like it is unending until you figure out how to manage your life and work. Working at EY requires that you not only manage yourself but also manage your managers because everyone is putting in 50+ hours a week.
