Pros

reasonable starting salary given the position fun work environment with some great people short learning curve (simple operating system and process) opportunity for good commission if you can call and sell, and your team can close

Cons

work life balance, especially if you have kids is impossible tax season hours are absolutely insane, 11 hour shifts are the norm, but you could be at the dealership 2 hours after close bc the process takes 3 hours, and you never get a full weekend or two days in a row off. lunch doesn't exist. you might get 5 minutes to scarf down fast food in the break room. no formal training at all. you have to hope you have good mentors in the dealership youre hired. promotions - I have 2 ssa's in my dealership and another sa that turned down ssa because he has to stay local. being promoted is only an option for those willing to move just about anywhere, especially at the sales manager level. antiquated technology and my location is run down. in the end this is simply not a company for those with family. awesome opportunity for someone fresh out of college who is good with people and motivated, you could be a GM in no time if you're willing to relocate.

Thank you for your comments. Just as most businesses have busy seasons, tax season is our busiest time of the year. We definitely understand having to put in longer hours, especially on the weekends, which is why we encourage employees to utilize our great PTO plan. Definitely take that important time with friends and family to have some fun.

Pros

This is my third week with the company and I`m pleasantly surprised. Before I started I read some bad reviews here and I was a little reserved, but according to my first impression is that those reviews are being written by lazy people who don`t know how to sell. Coming from fitness sales background I like the fact that there is no hard sell, also being salaried gives you security in the times when it`s slow. There is a lot of opportunity to grow in the company and the staff is awesome.

Cons

The only cons so far is the fact that you start making good money after you sell 14 cars in a month, but if you have some basic selling skills and you`re willing to work the phone it`s not that hard to sell more than 14 cars a month.
