Pros

- Multicultural and diverse team - Fairly young and mixed team - Hybrid working

Cons

If you are working on the Microsoft account, you will be stressing and the workload you receive is not worth the salary that you'll be getting. Although you'll be working at the Microsoft Office, they will treat you like a second class employee because your badge is orange and you're a vendor instead of it being blue. If you are part of an underrepresented group you are basically facing double discrimination. The pay & benefits are not worth the amount of work you will be doing. On calls, people will dismiss whatever you say a lot fo the time and treat you different because your email address doesn't look the same as theirs even though your job is just as important as theirs. The 'client' will always push random agendas and workload onto you although the team is providing them with exceptional work and you will also be forced and scheduled into the office at random days for no reason and the manager will guilt trip you into going in on days you weren't meant to be scheduled in. They are trying to force 'collaboration' between you and the client, however once you're in the office you will all hardly interact with each other or it gets too noisy that you can't work. Although your region is probably the best in the company, there is no HR department, your manager will never take your feedback on board and always go back to 'it's what the company/client wants'. No progression and constant updates/changes in processes without being informed about anything. Also one of the 'clients' will constantly micro-manage your work and you can still get in trouble even though you are following what they told you to do. There is no career progression at all, if you take the role you'll be stuck there and yu won't get any pay rise or promotion until you find a new job. You will be engrained into the Microsoft culture, however you will stll be treated as a second class citizen and can't avail to many of their benefits or go to their events. It's literally always the employee's vs management. Made the most genuine friendships and met amazing people within the company, however the issue always falls back on management. My advice? Don't even bother working here for the 'experience' the job market is terrible but this one isn't worth stressing and not having work-life balance anymore.

The downfall of Designit

Pros

The absolute best part of Designit is the people. I've never worked with such supportive, kind, and caring people. Most are always willing to help with whatever you need, be it load-balancing or a lending an ear. My experience with work/life balance was pretty good. Though this only came once I figured out that I could get all my work done 5x faster than my coworkers—unless they also figured it out and were spreading the work out throught the day. The feeling of camaraderie among team members was very strong. It always felt like an us vs. leadership mentality.

Cons

Designit, formerly known as Rational, was once an awesome place to work. Under Rational, the benefits were fantastic, and there was a genuine concern for employee welfare. Since the Wipro acquisition, Designit has seen a steady decline in quality and employee satisfaction. Employee benefits have been gutted. Raises, if given at all, are meager at best around 1%. Leadership holds meaningless townhalls to boast about profits, all while laying off large numbers of dedicated employees. For those dedicated to doing things the right way, working on the Microsoft account is a nightmare. Adhering to best practices is impossible when it conflicts with the whims of Microsoft stakeholders. There is zero transparency regarding business decisions made by the C-suite. Employees are left in the dark about critical changes that affect their work and future. The company's focus is overwhelmingly on profit, to the detriment of creativity and quality. This profit-centric approach stifles innovation and demoralizes creative professionals. The CEO has surrounded himself with a leadership team comprised of former coworkers, many of whom lack relevant experience in their new roles and the industry. There are zero opportunities for personal or professional development. The company offers no mentorship programs, and higher-ups show no interest in nurturing employee growth. Performance reviews are a joke. Executives can alter ratings after managers complete them, and managers are prohibited from giving the highest ratings. This system ensures that no one qualifies for meaningful pay increases. Arbitrary PTO policy changes have left tenured employees with a reduction in paid leave, further eroding morale and trust in the company. Despite being a remote-first company, Designit doesn't provide standard benefits like WiFi reimbursement or office equipment. Designit/Wipro has become a place where employee satisfaction is an afterthought, and the focus is solely on profit. It's a shame to see what was once a great agency become a shell of what it once was. I know the job market is tough right now, but if you have a chance to work here—DON'T. Run far, far away.
