Pros
lots of PTO (at least gets paid when you leave) good name to have on resume good if you have no other real skills besides going to college - you'll see a wide variety of 'business' it's good if you want to make partner - just make sure you have some rich parents who will pay for you to live in the City for 3 years until the firm compensates you adequately you COULD end up with some phenomenally smart managers who are also career oriented and make a career based on having a good team
Cons
you will basically get abused personally, i felt like a white collar prostitute- every morning - it was monkey work and i hated doing it would rather have been a poor artist - doing something fulfilling - accounting work is generally not fulfilling - that's not really Deloitte's fault, though - but they set it up so that all the incoming consultants do all the monkey work - depending on the team, you could end up with 99% monkey work and 1% interesting work talent leaves very quickly - as people just get treated at below human-being level in my opinion, the people who stay are normally very boring people - but that may just be because it's 'accounting' - not the fault of the firm in comparison to other companies I have worked for, the quality of the people as just human beings is not very impresive (many just have a lack of respect for others because they haven't ralely been treated with respect, either) you could end up with some not-so-bright managers who THINK they are really bright and make a career based on screwing people who work for them over
