Pros

Good pay and benefits, and there are some good people working there. New CEO in the past 2 years has brought new life into the company, and shed the 1970's vision of the previous CEO.

Cons

Where do I start... Senior finance leadership is passive/aggressive, and does not value the opinion of the staff. Distrust exists between senior finance leadership, and other departments, creating unnecessary stress for the finance staff. In the accounting department, during the most recent restructuring, they laid off the most hard working, capable, technically skilled, and well-liked manager in the group, only to retain another manager that does not share these traits.

Pros

The company is big and is making money. Profitable. It looks like they're turning around some of their digital marketing and they are making investments in the product.

Cons

Culture was rough. More about hours in your chair than work actually done. Was hard to modernize their approach to business as many people have been there a while and did things a certain way.

Pros

New upper management has solid and well-communicated vision and are engaged with all levels of the organization. Company seems to be back on it's feet financially. Spending money to improve the business in the right areas. Pay and benefits are good. A lot of great people who are passionate about the business and serving clients.

Cons

The work environment in back-office functions (HR, Finance, IT) are really poor. The senior leadership and managers in those functions need to improve or change to reduce turnover. Complacency with status quo, no focus on staff development, poor communication skills, too many layers in the organization, inability to understand or get into the details and unwillingness or making it difficult to work with each other are common place. Also, the St Paul location needs to be employee-friendly: regular food service, exercise or changing rooms, etc. The location itself is a hard draw to hire white collar workers.
