Cons

It think its fairly easy to get started in one career path, but there aren't clear paths to move up in the organization and is fairly easy to get "stuck" in one role for the rest of your career.

Cons

Some very stupid individuals at the mid to senior level of management focused on their own agendas and not the good of the company Highly political environment Very sales dominated - the rest of the company don't appear to be as valued.

Sold off divisions and starting to get focus in the market. (Is it to little to late.)

Cons

Owned by a private equity firm that wants a return on it's investment in the next two years. To much uncertainty at Merrill this time to recommend to a friend until someone that is concerned about the long term health of Merrill takes over.
