Pros
Merrill has many dedicated employees supporting sales. CEO is re-vamping leadership and company is re-inventing itself as a result of intense pressure from competitors. There is opportunity to succeed and company has a good reputation but, very little brand equity in the market. Good corporate culture. Nice people to work for...
Cons
Legacy sales reps campout on accounts assigned to them in Sales Force.com which limits a new representatives opportunity. No protected territories! If you do uncover a lead and it's assigned to the Legacy rep they are more than happy to split the sale with you for doing nothing to contribute to the sales process. New reps are viewed as competition and dillution by the Legacy reps. Very little team work and sharing amongst sales teams. No mentoring! Sales training is mostly OTJ. No formal sales process in place. This makes for a horrible sales environment and in my opinion is limiting the company's ablity to grow. Sales leads are non-existent for new sales reps and you are not given any existing accounts to grow or use as references. Basically the legacy sales reps would prefer you to fail and do everything in their power to exclude you from leveraging their industry contacts and relatonships. Lots of back stabbing among the sales reps. Worst sales culture I have ever experienced!
