Not many to call out, would be nice to have quicker processes.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re pleased to hear you value the caring, supportive, and knowledgeable teams, as well as the support from your managers. We encourage all colleagues to have open conversations with their line managers to discuss any concerns, particularly around improving processes.

Pros

Experience in working in a sales, retail and customer service based environment plus you pick up product knowledge along the way. Other employees (not management!) will be there to help you and are generally friendly, they know how bad the job can be sometimes. Bonus schemes for selling the add-ons but it isn't a great deal, better than nothing though.

Cons

Where to start. Management is the main issue here. Once you get put on your own after the first few weeks you're expected to know everything and be able to sell the useless warranties on every transaction. If you don't the manager will constantly remind you through teams messages, even though the managers themselves can't actually sell these warranties since they just stand at the front greeting people or stay in the back in their office. Be expected to have customers mad at you because of no stock for items in store, especially with white goods because the home delivery fee is minimum £20 which many people don't approve of. Not only is there pressure of hitting targets but also for reviews customers give you on their email receipt, anything under an 8 makes you look like a bad employee and management will be unhappy with you for that, worse if you aren't selling add ons which 80% of the population do not want.. Shift patterns are meh, if you're a part timer you'll be working every weekend and put on shifts just under the 6 hour mark so you don't get a break, this is the managements decision not the company's because the store is constantly understaffed - new starters all the time to balance out people leaving a few months in as this is NOT a job for the long term which everybody knows. Because of staff leaving all the time training is extremely rushed and you don't actually learn anything until you're on your own and doing it, since you just shadow someone for like 2 weeks not doing anything.
