Pros

1) Diversity is a huge thing here. It is good to meet people from various parts of the world and listen to their opinions. 2) You get to work in global teams over the phone. 3) If you are a serious gear head and want to make a career as an engine development person then this company is for you. 5-10% of the people are in actual R&D. 4) Decent compensation packages. 5) Good work life balance. People are casual and have 8 to 5 work days. 6) Community involvement is big and lot of activities are undertaken to help local community.

Cons

1) Archaic FORCED Performance Evaluation Ranking process. Every year 10% people are let go because they are ranked 3 on a scale of 1-Best, 2-Average, 3-Poor Performance. Usually 10% people are 1's, 80% people are 2's and 10% people are 3's which is forced. 2) Be ready to be fired at anytime. I have seen 8 layoffs in 6 years of my experience. If the company sees any slowdown in the market they immediately start firing new people with less then 5 years of experience. 3) Some managers are very dominating and will force their thinking upon you. If you try to do things differently you might become the candidate to be ranked 3. There is no room for creativity. 4) Old management style. Lot of bureaucracy. Most of the people jobs are sending emails everyday and following up on things. Real R&D is only 5-10%. 5) Professional growth is very slow. It will take at least 4 years to get promoted to the next level. The company values experience more than a person who is talented and puts in extra effort. 6) Middle managers have formed groups/cliques. If one of the manager doesn't like you the whole group will start devaluing you.
