Pros

The product is great, and many of the people working for Hotjar and Contentsquare are highly skilled.

Cons

The culture of the company has taken a massive downswing. The leadership is not transparent, have gone through 2 mass-layoffs in less than 6 months, reduced perks and benefits, and not communicated effectively with the team. Expectations of delivery of KPIs and target attainment are unrealistic.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate that layoffs are never an easy experience, impacting both those who depart as well remaining employees. These difficult decisions regarding our current benefits and staffing model were taken to ensure our organization remains resilient over the long term. If you would like to discuss further, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Marisa Bryan - Global VP Talent

Pros

-great external brand -pay & benefits were pretty good -other depts/areas of the company seem great

Cons

-the head of the Solutions Expert team is a toxic awful leader. She doesn't really understand the product and if you're placed on her team, please be prepared to be gaslighted and have little to no support and be disrespected- having any sort of opinion that is not agreeable is seen as "defensive" and "not a fit". If you're interviewing - ask about the most recent team member that was inhumanely let go before the holidays due to "performance" issues that were not actually valid.

We are sorry to hear you've had a negative experience on the Solutions Expert team at CS. We take our values of "Try, Learn, Grow" very seriously which encourages collaboration with other team members as well as asking questions. We value transparency in our interview process and are happy to answer any questions that might arise from future applicants.

Pros

Unlimited PTO, fantastic product, great company culture

Cons

New management brought on to lead US SDR team in the last year is awful. Unreasonable work expectations, and no team spirit or morale. Feels like a competition against fellow SDRs rather than working together as a team. No path to promotion in sight, there are people who have been at CS for 2 years with no promise of being moved into an AE role. SDRs leaving at an alarming rate (4 in January on an already small team) and instead of trying to help, management is insistent on hiring more people instead of looking in the mirror.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We wanted to take the time to address some of your concerns: 1. You’ll be happy to know that we had 3 promotions to AE in Q1, 1 to SE, and we have such a strong partnership with sales leadership that we will continue to fuel their growth with our amazing talent for years to come. 2. Regarding work expectations: Given we are an enterprise sales-focused team, this requires more focus and effort than less strategic sales. We recognize that the enterprise sales career path is not for everyone, and are working to set better expectations with recruits and new hires on what is required to be successful. The great news is the 14+ projects and initiatives we’ve launched to align to this enterprise motion have resulted in the team now meeting and exceeding goals --- previously, they were not. Meeting and exceeding goals will provide for the above future promotions and the many to follow. The team has now more than doubled production since January 2022. 3. With regards to people development, we’ve increased our focus on coaching, call recording, and announced an up-leveled promotion and development program in February that has already led to many in-seat promotions and will fuel our promotions into the field. Our goal is to up-skill our sellers, so they can become field seller eligible in approximately 20-24 months’ time (based on performance, and test-out certifications). While no one can ever guarantee promotions to the AE role as this depends on individual growth and goal attainment -- we’re partnering with our leaders and developing our team to become the best AEs the company has ever seen. Also, some folks may not want to go into the field -- we also recognize this and will partner with our top performers on other areas of the business they’re passionate about. Recently we had a top performer become a Sales Engineer, and we love this. Lastly, we are in hyper-growth mode, which will provide once-in-career opportunities to our SDRs. We take your concerns seriously and will work harder at coaching on change management -- change is constant while we’re growing this fast. Thank you again for your feedback and best of luck on your new path. - Chad Knutson, Director, Sales Development, North America
