Pros

Prior to the recent merger with ACE, Chubb had operated as a competitive, challenging and enjoyable place to work; a company which recognized and respected the value, experience and expertise of its employees. Despite salaries always being less competitive than the rest of the marketplace--it helped bridge that gap by offering a good work/life balance, pension program, and decent PTO policy.

Cons

A lot of Chubb's best talent has either been downsized or driven out as a result of the merger, telling me that ACE leadership is oblivious to the role which Chubb's employees and its culture have played in its long-term success. Although decision-making and execution have not always been a strong suit at Chubb ("due diligence" taken to the extreme perhaps), ACE seems to pride itself on its "fire, ready, aim, and fire again" approach to doing business...something which isn't likely to impress many "old" Chubb agents or customers.

Pros

Co workers are also traumatized so you aren't alone

Cons

Literally everything. The only people keeping up work 10 to 14 hours per day. The turnover rate is about 1 person per month. When people quit, they'll dump a literal month of work on you in one day along with your regular work and tell you to figure it out. They'll gaslight you at every turn. They'll blame employees for everything instead of their own inability to manage. They tell you there is training but turns out, "training" is reading off papers while sitting in a circle. You each take turns reading a paragraph like it's 4th grade. If you didn't grasp that, they make you do the "training" again and again and again instead of explaining or showing another way. They have no ability to think outside the box or change what they're doing. Their favorite line is "this job isn't for everyone" - but with the turnover rate is what it is, they really mean this job is for no one. But they'll repeat that line until their blue in the face because they have no other explanation for why everyone keeps quitting because they lack the ability to accept any responsibility for running things into the ground. They also actively stop people from exploring other areas of the company/ business. They'd rather us quit instead. There's a reason they are never fully staffed and are always hiring. If you do take the job out of necessity, start setting up an escape plan and looking for other jobs immediately.

Pros

The 401k benefits are great, rate of return is usually around 20%. Up to date technology to effectively perform the job. Decent yearly bonus.

Cons

Management freely and openly mistreats employees. From talking down to them, treating them as uneducated children, especially minorities, and lastly openly retailates in response to complaints, too many suggestions, or knowledgeable employees who are well versed in their roles within the company. Chubb is managed by the most unqualified individuals who are threatened by seasoned employees of the field. The workload is extremely high coupled with bad management makes this place almost unbearable to work in.
