Pros

Generous PTO and flexibility with WFH schedules - however this can vary by department.

Cons

There has been a mass exodus from Chubb. All of my friends have left within the past year, and all are making 6 digits at our competitors. It is unreal how underpaid we are compared to other insurance companies. In addition, extra work keeps getting piled on high performers when someone else inevitably leaves. It feels like punishment. Systems are old and break down often.

Pros

- Good pay - Direct supervisor was very good

Cons

- Workload is extremely high and stressful due to constant employee turnover - Lack of work/life balance - Upper management micromanages a lot - Claims systems are very outdated and cumbersome to use and hinder adjusters to process work efficiently - Terrible onboarding/training program - Low adjuster authority makes the claim process for tedious and slow as you have to request authority/permission on nearly every action in the claim After my recruitment and onboarding it didn't take long for me to feel like I was sold a used car that broke down immediately after driving it off the lot. The recruitment at Chubb is all smoke and mirrors. The truth is that they do not onboard employees well at all to introduce you to the numerous outdated systems you use to process a simple claim. And once your brief onboarding/training is up, they will give you all the old work from adjusters that are constantly leaving. Worst of all is that Chubb management doesn't even care to remedy the issues to stop the constant turnover of employees. I'll end on this, I had a major life event that came up and I needed time off to handle it. Management denied my PTO request because they lack adequate staffing to handle claims is a very large market. In my time of need, Chubb was not there for me.

Pros

Excellent adjusters to work with.

Cons

No Phoenix employee was allowed to be remote work at home but DAT management opened remote working to across the country to other candidates. There is no consistency or fairness. The lack of consistency and fairness spans over the entire department. Favoritism is very apparent. Management has zero interest in listening to the experienced adjusters they hire. The keep you at a very low pay authority and make you request authorization for everything. Management will also go into every file and "give you direction" in your file or ask for things that are already in the file. The files turn into a back and forth between manager and adjuster. Essentially, the manager ends up adjusting the file as the adjuster has zero authority. There are managers in the department who have never desk adjusted or been in the field that cannot write or review any of the estimates written. This creates an issue because they question estimates for things that are standard. You play back and forth communicating and explaining things to managers they should already know. For example, a manager asked for an ITEL report for a wood shake shingle. Management lacks respect for their adjusters and will speak down to them. The overall morale of the entire department is a dark gloomy cloud. The issue isn't with the adjusters who are there, the issue comes from the top down.
