Don't Believe the Hype. Stay away!!
Pros
I'm not going to lie....I started working for this company less than a month ago and was so excited to be a Chubb employee! They are suppose to be a first class organization and one of the leaders in Insurance. Unfortunately I haven't found a single Pro except they have free coffee in the cafeteria (which isn't even that good). Its in a good location in Philadelphia which I guess is another Pro. My boss is a nice man but has been broken by the Chubb culture and system. He also sits in a different office so I've still never met him. (wouldn't that be nice for him to actually want to meet his employees??) When I started there was nothing at my desk. I had to wait 2 weeks for monitors and a keyboard. I was still forced to come in and work off a small laptop even though I have an entire Home Office built. They state they want people back in the office for CULTURE! The office which they FORCE that culture had a desk was covered in dust, mice dropping in the cabinets. The office is a baron wasteland of cubes. Its very cliquey and not welcoming to anyone who isn't in their clique.
Cons
Ohhh lets get to the exciting part! Lets just list them off shall we? See above for some more Spelled my name wrong on my email and refuses to change it stating that it will mess everything up in there systems (Billion dollar company has awful tech) No IT support for new hires, kind of just figure it out on your own. I went down to the IT desk to ask for help and they said, go back to your desk and go into teams and request help (the Indian people on service now are very helpful) The floor I'm sitting on had a pizza party to welcome the staff back. never invited me or made me feel welcome. (when I went in the kitchen and said "oh can I have a slice, they said no its for our team) A person who is upper management but NOT my reporting boss or on my team has been extremely rude to be about my appearance, weight, intelligence, and made numerous comments about when I am in the office or not in the office (my boss has approved my days that I'm in and out of the office) They want you in the office but give you no reason to actually go into the office. Why am I putting on slacks and a dress shirt when I see people in jeans and hoodies in the cafeteria? Will Chubb start paying for my clothes? Since the office is in the city, I have to pay to park when I'm in the office, just another added expense. Zero Training classes, expected to work 12-15hr days regularity. The famed culture has a saying in the office I'm in.......Sign off at 5pm, Have dinner and sign back on at 7pm and work till midnight. I could go on but I think you get the point.....
